-Commission - Iron Dragon Plush- by Silvolf -Commission - Iron Dragon Plush- by Silvolf
A plushie commission for Iron Sunsetscales on FA
This was fun to make and again I learned new things. The design required scales so I worked out how to make scales and stitch them on. The scales are in polar fleece (non-pilling kind) and the dragon himself is a plush fur.
His wings are wired and can be posed.

I'm always open for commissions for these and all the other media types I do so feel free to drop a note at any time.

Wow! You are very talented. How did you learn to make plushies? Was there something that inspired you to learn how to make plushies?

Well Mum made plushies years ago so she helped me make them when I was a kid. I recently started making them again because peole wanted to commission me for them. As for inspiration, as with many things I wanted my characters made as them. If I can't buy something, I tend to just make it myself and always have done ever since I was a kid.
Thanks for the :+fav:!

You made me want to learn. XD I’ll have to see what tutorials I can find online. I’ve also been interested in learning how to make necklaces. I believe I read that you and your mom make jewelry. Have any tips for a beginner?

Yes we do at [link] As for beginner, I suggest getting some glass beads and some beading wire or strong thread for necklaces and have a play around with colours and types of beads. That's how I started out and then I diversed into more interesting things. Also, get some books on jewellery making, wire wrapping and things like that because they really help.

Thanks!
They cost a lot in materials and time. I charge $150 for them (bearing in mind dollars are less of my country's currency so I have to charge more dollars or I won't get paid properly) but that cost covers materials (including me either buying from the supplier or going out and looking around, so also time), time spent making the plush and any prototypes that need to be made if its a plushie I haven't made before and insured shipping to send it to you. Most of my plushies are 14 to 17 inches in length so they're a nice size as well.
I don't ask for the payment all at once though. $50 paid first to cover the cost of materials and then the rest paid when the plush is finished. They normally take around a month, maybe a little under if the plush is not clothed lol! Clothes take a LOT longer because they all need their own patterns. And I choose the materials and let you see them before I buy them from my supplier because I like my clients to be happy with the choices of colours and textures and make sure they are right. I also keep you updated with the progress of the plush too.
