Yes, I drew my fave band as cars. Why cars? Why not?
The style is inspired by Pixar and Disney's upcoming "Cars" movie (released 2006 so not immediately upcoming lol). Usually I draw my anthro cars with their eyes in their headlights but decided to put them on the windshield instead like the cars from the movie. I could give them a wider variety of expressions that way.
Ok, so Russel is a big chunky 4X4 and he has his drum sticks attached to the cover of his spare tyre (which you can't see but you can see the end of one of the sticks sticking out there...in case you thought it was a tail of some sort). 2-D is a stretch limo because he's pretty tall. I included one of his tattoos on the door there and he's got his "2" on his bonnet. Murdoc is some sort of cadillac with spiked hubcaps and cracked windows. Again I included his upside down cross and the one on his bonnet is supposed to represent the necklace one he wears. Incidently on the other side of him, there is his squid tattoo but of course you can't see it. Finally Noodle is a cute little Mini sort of car, maybe a Ford KA, I like those. She's got an aerial on her roof too.
Yesterday before the pic was finished I looked at the cars outside and noticed all of them have lines or stripes of some sort going along their doors so I included those last. The background is similar to a couple in my promo book.
Final thoughts: I'm really pleased with how I rendered this and how it came out. The 2-D Limo looks stoned. This artwork is copyright to me. Do NOT reuse, repost, edit or modify it in any way.
