It is with a heavy heart that I've decided to purge my gallery here on dA. I've been on DeviantArt since 2003 and I'm so sad seeing how the site has gone downhill, especially in recent years. No interaction or interest, no comments on my work, changes made to the site in general that the majority of users didn't want. I started to delete my gallery when the N.F.T. thing happened, some of you may have noticed and I got a few people asking where they could view my older work so I made an archive site on a separate server for my old artwork from here. I manually went through my entire gallery, spanning well over 1000 pieces, saved them all, dated the files with the upload date and backed them up (I have all my work backed up anyway but this was a catalog of what had been on here specifically) and it took days.

I left my character references and a few other things on here, I had deleted everything before 2019. Now it is all gone aside from some poems, cosplay and my dA ID images.

Like many people, the recent AI update dA brought in scared me into just deciding to get rid of the rest. Yes, I know they sort of rectified the situation by making it so people were automatically opted out instead of in, but it's one thing after another with this site and I'm tired of it. This site was like my second home, I made so many friends here over the years, had some great and meaningful conversations and art trades/commissions etc and interaction with the community but it's been slowly dying over the last few years and I don't see it coming back. Yes, it's good that they allowed us to edit our profiles etc again but I've had enough of the ups and downs and drama of DeviantArt. I came here from Side 7 and I will stay to watch my few friends who are still uploading but I won't be uploading here for the foreseeable future. Not unless a LOT changes and it feels stable and good again.

I decided to just dump any art I do here, even though I'm not especially active because it's an easy go to place to archive my stuff should I need to link to it, show people and whatnot etc in the future. Lack of interest in my work and the general downfall of the community since eclipse was forced on us has spoiled this place for me so I post on my social medias first and foremost but it's useful to have everything in a gallery nonetheless.

Hi everyone, it is with a heavy heart I must put up my Esk 013 for adoption, I sadly don't have the time to join in on Those Who Went Missing anymore and I would rather see my Esk go to a good home where someone will enjoy them and use them in the game.

Well I can't even find my old journals on this crappy Eclipse layout. I thought about changing back but what's the point? It will only be forced on us all on May 20th. And we knew this would happen. We were all hoping it wouldn't. Some of us like Eclipse and that's ok. I myself tried it back when it came out as Beta, hated it and never went back. It's slow and laggy for a lot of people and I found the old layout far easier to use in terms of managing watched deviations etc. Not even sure if my groups are working properly.

I am not leaving DA since I admin a lot of groups and I want to keep an eye on any friends who decide to stay. But I won't be posting art anymore. You may or may not have noticed I don't post much anymore on here. That is because so many of my friends and watchers have either left or gone inactive and no one really comments or bothers with what I post anymore. I have been posting my art on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook and had far more interest, which is why I continue to post there. I am starting more art related videos on my YouTube as well and they have received a good amount of feedback and interest. But I see no point wasting my time posting here anymore. I was using DA more for an art archive really.

Let's face it, the day of art gallery sites went a while ago. DA is the biggest gallery site on the internet and no others seem to have come close to it. But all of them are dying. Even new ones that start up (and I have joined a lot of those over the years, remember Nabyn?) fall by the wayside. And others outright close down (rest in peace Elfwood!) after many years. I'm not sure if even Side 7 is still going (that was the first art site I was a member of until they started charging if you wanted more than 100 pictures so my friends and I left and came to DA) and now DA is dying too. Let's face it, it is. In the past 24 hours people have left this site like a sinking ship. And it's sad. Alright I get that DA wanted to refresh its site and try and make it more up to date but why fix something that isn't broken? There was nothing wrong with the old site, everyone got along with it. And yeah, they have changed the look of the site before but not as drastically as this. It's too uniform now. The thing that makes me most sad is that when I joined DA, it had a sense of community. We commented on other peoples' art, had conversations, made new friends and the moderators of the site LISTENED to us. That has all changed. The mods have cared less and less about the users as the years have passed. I mean look at the announcement for the forced integration of Eclipse; comments disabled! They KNOW the users are unhappy. And they no longer care.
